The Road, Cormac McCarthy's 10th novel is a Pulitzer Prize Winner, A National Books Critic Circle Award Finalist, a New York Times Notable Pick and one of Oprah's Book Club choices. Cormac McCarthy does not generally grant interviews, and had never done an in person interview before Oprah.
When Oprah chose The Road for her book group, McCarthy agreed to sit down and discuss the book with her. I have attached the interview here:

The Road is considered a dystopian novel, it takes a look at a post-apocalyptic America and the most amazing bond of love between a father and his son and their endurance as they travel through the ravaged country. It is a harsh book, but is is also very beautiful, and after reading it, I can see it why it is so acclaimed and won so many awards. There is also a movie adaptation of the book starring Robert Duvall and Charlize Theron, I have not seen the movie yet, but I do plan on watching it.
